Detectives release video as they work to identify suspect in early morning vehicle theft

BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. — A person caught on surveillance video is being sought by detectives after a vehicle was targeted in a predawn theft outside a home near the Emma community, according to the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office released the video Thursday as detectives continue investigating a larceny from a motor vehicle that occurred around 4 a.m. on June 30.

Investigators said the theft happened at a residence on Aztec Lane near the Emma community.

Detectives are asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the surveillance footage, who is considered a suspect in the investigation.
