Winning ticket sold at Hylan Boulevard retailer after Wednesday night’s drawing
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — A Powerball player who purchased a ticket on Staten Island is holding a winning ticket worth $50,000 after matching enough numbers in the Double Play drawing Wednesday night.
The New York Lottery announced that one $50,000-winning Powerball Double Play ticket was sold for the July 29 drawing.
The winning ticket was purchased at Liquor Cabinet SI, located at 2435 Hylan Blvd. on Staten Island.
Lottery officials did not release information about the winner. New York allows lottery prize winners to remain anonymous under certain circumstances.
Double Play is a $1 add-on feature available with Powerball tickets that gives players a second chance to win using the same set of numbers in a separate drawing held about 30 minutes after each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday Powerball drawing.
Double Play prizes range from $7 to the $10 million top prize.
