SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — A Powerball player in Rome is celebrating a $50,000 win after purchasing a lucky ticket that matched enough numbers to claim a third-prize payout in Wednesday night’s drawing.
The New York Lottery announced one third-prize-winning Powerball ticket worth $50,000 was sold in Rome for the July 29 drawing.
The winning ticket was purchased at Stewart’s Shops, located at 9128 Turin Rd. in Rome.
Lottery officials did not release information about the winner. New York allows lottery prize winners to remain anonymous under certain circumstances.
Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
