Harvest Fare sells seven-figure ticket with $975 million jackpot still waiting
FALLSTON, MD – A Powerball ticket sold at a Fallston supermarket is suddenly worth $1 million after hitting five winning numbers Monday night, delivering Maryland its third seven-figure Powerball prize in two weeks while the jackpot surged to $975 million.
The Maryland Lottery announced Tuesday that Harvest Fare Supermarket at 2315 Belair Road sold the $1 million ticket.
Monday night’s winning white numbers were 6, 37, 54, 55 and 64. The Powerball was 10.
The Fallston ticket matched all five white numbers but missed the Powerball, securing the game’s $1 million second-tier prize.
The win continues a recent run of $1 million Powerball tickets sold in Maryland.
A ticket purchased at the 7-Eleven at 8905 Rhode Island Avenue in College Park won $1 million in the Aug. 1 drawing.
Another $1 million ticket came from Royal Farms at 1558 Annapolis Road in Odenton for the July 29 drawing.
That Odenton prize was claimed Monday by an Anne Arundel County resident who used the nickname “Powerball Bulldog,” according to the Maryland Lottery.
Monday night’s drawing produced another major Maryland prize.
Harris Teeter at 8620 Guilford Road in Columbia sold a ticket worth $150,000.
That ticket matched four white numbers plus the Powerball for a $50,000 base prize.
The player added the $1 Power Play option, and Monday’s 3X multiplier tripled the winnings to $150,000.
Across Maryland, 38,170 tickets won prizes ranging from $4 to $1 million in Monday’s drawing.
Maryland Lottery players have collected more than $8.4 million in Powerball prizes since the jackpot was last won May 2.
During that period, Maryland has recorded 20 Powerball prizes worth at least $50,000.
The game’s grand prize remains untouched.
Wednesday night’s estimated jackpot has reached $975 million, with an estimated $422.3 million cash option.
Maryland Lottery winners have 182 days from the applicable drawing date to claim their prizes.
Powerball drawings take place Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
