A Power Play ticket from Leonard News on Broadway turned the Sept. 9 drawing into a six-figure win
NEW YORK, NY – A Powerball ticket purchased at a Manhattan newsstand is worth $100,000 after hitting a third-tier prize with the Power Play option in the Sept. 9 drawing, according to the New York Lottery.
The winning ticket was sold at Leonard News, located at 349 Broadway in Manhattan.
The ticket earned a $100,000 third prize in the Wednesday Powerball drawing.
The New York Lottery did not provide additional information about the ticket purchase or whether the prize had been claimed.
Powerball players select five numbers from a field of 1 through 69 and a Powerball from a separate field of 1 through 26.
Players who purchase the optional Power Play feature can multiply eligible non-jackpot prizes, with multipliers reaching as high as 10 times depending on the drawing and prize.
Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
The New York Lottery reported contributing $3.6 billion to public schools statewide during fiscal year 2025-2026.
