Shirley Davis forced the child to have sex with multiple men and coerced her into smoking crack cocaine, prosecutors said
BRONX, NY – A Bronx woman who forced a 13-year-old girl to have sex with multiple men nearly every day in exchange for money and crack cocaine was sentenced to 12 years in prison after a jury convicted her of sex trafficking a child.
Shirley Davis, 46, also known as Peaches, was sentenced Friday by Bronx Supreme Court Justice Laurence Busching, according to Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark’s office.
Davis received 12 years in prison followed by five years of post-release supervision.
A jury convicted her April 1 of sex trafficking of a child.
Prosecutors said Davis met the 13-year-old victim at the Soundview Houses NYCHA complex in the Bronx.
The child was seeking food and shelter when Davis brought her into her apartment, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
Between Sept. 1 and Oct. 31, 2022, Davis forced the girl to engage in sex acts with multiple adult men nearly every day in exchange for cash, crack cocaine or both, prosecutors said.
Davis also coerced the child into smoking crack cocaine, according to the investigation.
The victim testified during Davis’ trial.
In addition to the prison sentence and post-release supervision, Davis must register as a sex offender.
A court also issued an order of protection barring Davis from contacting the victim.
The case was prosecuted by the Bronx District Attorney’s Human Trafficking Unit, with assistance from other prosecutors, victim services personnel and investigators.
The NYPD/FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force also worked on the case.
