Surveillance cameras captured the suspects during the overnight burglary on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue
WASHINGTON, DC – Burglars forced their way through the roof of a closed business on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in Southwest DC, took property and fled before police arrived, prompting a public search for the suspects captured on surveillance video.
The burglary happened at approximately 12:50 a.m. Friday in the 4600 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SW, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Police said multiple suspects forced their way into the closed commercial business through its roof.
Once inside, the suspects took property from the business and fled the scene.
MPD did not disclose what was stolen or provide an estimated value for the property taken.
Surveillance cameras captured the suspects, and police released video Tuesday in an effort to identify them.
Investigators are asking anyone who recognizes the suspects or has information about the burglary to contact police at 202-727-9099 or send a text tip to 50411.
MPD is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the person or people responsible for a crime committed in DC.
