ALEXANDRIA, VA – Earlier today, the Alexandria Police Department investigated a sudden death incident in the area of Mount Vernon Avenue. At this time, police did not release any further details other than the investigation forcing the closure of Mount Vernon Avenue from Executive Avenue to Russell Road while the investigation was conducted.

The incident happened in the 3900 block of Mount Vernon Avenue. The department reported the medical examiner would determine the cause of death.
