10-Year-Old Girl Gravely Injured In D.C. Shooting

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A 10-year-old was critically injured Sunday night in a shooting that took place in Northeast, D.C.

Gunfire erupted shortly after 9 pm at the 3700 Block of Hayes Street. More than 50 shots were fired at that location. A little girl sitting in the back seat of her parent’s car was struck by a stray bullet. At 9:14 pm, officers arrived and found the crime scene but located no victims.

The 10-year-old girl was taken to a Fire and EMS station. The victim was then taken to a nearby hospital and remains in grave condition.
