New Yorker charged with DWI in Cranford

CRANFORD, NJ – 23-year-old Shawn Morales, from Arverne, New York, was arrested by Officer Ali Muhammad on charges of driving while intoxicated.

The arrest took place on May 6 at approximately 7:52 a.m. when police conducted a traffic stop of a 2021 Gray Nissan on North Avenue East at Elizabeth Avenue due to a moving violation.

Following a brief investigation, Officer Ali Muhammad determined that Morales was driving under the influence.

After the arrest, Shawn Morales was processed and provided with a Municipal Court Appearance Date. Additionally, Morales received summonses for two additional offenses. One summons was issued for having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, while the other was for causing a delay in traffic.
