Armed Buffalo Man Arrested Following Vehicle Burglary

BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo Police Department reported the arrest of a local man found rummaging through a vehicle on the 400 block of Tacoma Avenue on June 28. Officers responded to the scene around 3 p.m., following a call reporting that Avantae Ayala, 20, had been seen armed while attempting to burglarize a vehicle.

Upon officers’ arrival, Ayala fled the scene but was apprehended on the 100 block of North Park Avenue. He was found in possession of a Palmetto State Armory 9mm handgun loaded with nine rounds. Ayala has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
