Man shot in Queens, Suspect in Custody

NEW YORK, NY – Police have made an arrest in a shooting incident that occurred on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at approximately 8:16 p.m. in front of 106-32 Sutphin Boulevard in Jamaica, Quieens.

According to police reports, two unidentified individuals acted in concert and approached a 36-year-old male victim. The assailants forcibly threw the victim to the ground before shooting him in the torso.

After the attack, the victim managed to flee the scene and was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center by private means. Fortunately, his condition was stable at the time.

Following the shooting, both perpetrators fled the location. Authorities have since apprehended one individual involved in the incident. The suspect in custody has been identified as 27-year-old Sharod Elmore, residing at 2955 8th Avenue in New York, NY. Elmore has been charged with attempted murder, two counts of robbery, and criminal possession of a weapon.

However, one individual remains at large and is currently being sought by law enforcement. The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion, standing approximately 5’6″ to 5’7″ tall, and having an average build. At the time of the incident, he was seen wearing a blue sweatshirt, gray jeans, and white sneakers.
