Wiggles World is Long Gone in New Jersey as New Documentary Announced for Fans

JACKSON, NJ – In the early 2000s Wigglesmania took New Jersey by storm. We even had a theme park dedicated to the Aussie quartet at Six Flags Great Adventure called Wiggles World.

Wiggles World was an interactive theme park for children within the theme park that included several rides including Captain Feathersword’s pirate ship and a full stage for the Wiggles to perform several times each day for thousands of fans.

It wasn’t actually the Wiggles, but park actors pretending to the Jeff, Murray, Greg, and Anthony. Of course, there was also the good captain himself, Dorothy the Dinosaur, and Wags the Dog.

Now, those Wiggles fans are college students and many are even beginning families of their own.

This is great news for Amazon Studios who announced an upcoming Wiggles documentary to launch later this year.

Prime Video announced the global release of the Australian Original documentary, Hot Potato: The Story of The Wiggles, set to launch on Tuesday, October 24. The documentary will be available in over 240 countries and territories and offers a comprehensive look at the children’s entertainment group The Wiggles, who have had a cultural impact spanning over 30 years.

The film delves into the journey of The Wiggles, originally four friends and preschool teachers, who revolutionized children’s music. Recognized for their iconic blue, red, yellow, and purple outfits, the group—Anthony Field, Murray Cook, Greg Page, and Jeff Fatt—overcame multiple industry rejections to achieve unparalleled success in children’s entertainment.

Tyler Bern, head of content for Prime Video Australia, New Zealand, and Canada, emphasized the importance of the documentary in showcasing the group’s legacy. The film promises never-before-seen footage, intimate interviews, and a deep dive into their career milestones and challenges.

Director Sally Aitken mentioned that the documentary captures the essence of The Wiggles, blending heartache and joy, resilience and reinvention. It provides a rare, behind-the-scenes look into the world of these artists who have touched millions of lives.

The documentary has been backed by major production investments from Screen Australia, in association with Screen NSW, and is part of the benefits available to Prime members in Australia. It will have its world premiere at SXSW Sydney in October.
