Bridgeport Man Pleads Guilty to Making False Statements to Federal Grand Jury

by Breaking Local News Report

BRIDGEPORT, CT – Tae’Ron Womack, 22, pleaded guilty to making a false declaration before a federal grand jury, as announced by U.S. District Judge Kari A. Dooley and other law enforcement officials.

The plea comes as part of a broader investigation by the FBI, ATF, DEA, U.S. Marshals Service, and Bridgeport Police into local gangs involved in narcotics trafficking and violent activities. Womack had been summoned before a grand jury in July 2020 due to the use of his car in the shooting death of Myreke Kenion on January 26, 2020. When shown a picture of Jaheim Warren, who was suspected to be involved in the shooting, Womack falsely claimed under oath not to know him.

Subsequent investigation led to the discovery of a YouTube rap video featuring both Womack and Warren, contradicting Womack’s sworn testimony. Womack was arrested on September 9, 2020.

Womack is scheduled for sentencing on December 12 and faces a maximum of five years in prison. He has been released on a $25,000 bond pending sentencing.

Jaheim Warren, 19, was shot and killed on December 20, 2020.
