Bridgeport Gang Member Sentenced to 50 Months for Racketeering Offense

By Shore News Network Staff Report / September 22, 2023

BRIDGEPORT, CT – Harry Batchelor, known as “Bookie,” 27, was sentenced today to 50 months in federal prison and three years of supervised release for racketeering activities related to his membership in a violent Bridgeport street gang. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Victor A. Bolden.

The conviction stems from ongoing investigations by the FBI, ATF, DEA, U.S. Marshals Service, and Bridgeport Police into multiple gangs in Bridgeport. Batchelor was a member of the East End gang, which has been involved in narcotics trafficking, murder, and other violent activities. The gang is allied with other criminal groups against rival gangs, including the “Original North End” and the “Greene Homes Boyz.”

Batchelor and his associates distributed heroin, crack cocaine, marijuana, and Percocet pills; used firearms; and committed violent acts, including at least six murders. They also took to social media platforms like Facebook and YouTube to celebrate their criminal activities, intimidate witnesses, and evade law enforcement.

Batchelor pleaded guilty on June 5, 2023, to one count of conspiracy to engage in a pattern of racketeering activity. He admitted to distributing narcotics and acknowledged that a firearm he owned was used by another East End gang member in the shooting of a rival gang member on October 17, 2019.

Batchelor has been in custody since May 6, 2021.
