SALISBURY, WICOMICO CO – An investigation has been initiated into a structure fire at a Salisbury storage building, with authorities ruling it as a possible arson.

The incident, which took place at 704 Lake Street, involved a storage facility used by the City of Salisbury Parks Department. The fire, discovered by a city employee, occurred sometime between December 20, 2023, and January 2, 2024. Notably, there was no response from the fire department as the fire had self-extinguished by the time of discovery.

There were no injuries or deaths reported. The estimated loss amounts to $1,000 for the structure and $4,000 for contents. Given the nature of the building, smoke alarms and fire sprinklers were not required.
