DOVER, DE – Delaware State Police arrested Christopher Russum, 37, of Hartly, for his sixth DUI offense following a police pursuit in Dover on Thursday afternoon.

The incident occurred on December 28, at around 3:49 PM, when a state trooper spotted a white Ford Expedition running a red light at Bay Road’s intersection with President Drive, heading south.

The vehicle then turned east on Lafferty Lane. Upon attempting a traffic stop, the SUV did not yield and instead made a U-turn towards Bay Road. The chase continued over several roads until the SUV was disabled on State Route 1 near Exit 91, where Russum was apprehended.

Troopers, detecting signs of impairment, confirmed through a computer check that Russum had five previous DUI convictions.

He was transported to Troop 3 and faces multiple charges, including a felony 6th offense DUI, disregarding a police officer signal, leaving the scene of a property collision accident, driving while suspended, and numerous other traffic violations.
