WASHINGTON, D.C. – A string of thefts across local CVS stores has come to a halt with the arrest of a D.C. man on Friday morning. The D.C. Metro Police Department has confirmed the apprehension of the individual involved in multiple retail theft incidents.
At 8:17 a.m. on Friday, police officers were dispatched to the CVS on the 1100 block of 4th Street in Southwest D.C., responding to reports of an ongoing theft. They arrived to find the suspect exiting the store with stolen goods. The man, identified as 24-year-old Calvin Miller from Southwest D.C., was arrested on the spot. This arrest was particularly notable because Miller had previously received a barring notice from the store, rendering his entry and subsequent actions illegal.
Further investigation led by dedicated detectives linked Miller to additional thefts at another CVS location on I Street in Southeast D.C. These incidents occurred six times from December 14th to December 30th.
Miller is currently facing Theft Two and Unlawful Entry charges for the Friday incident, with additional charges for the aforementioned theft offenses. The D.C. Metro Police continues to investigate the full extent of the retail theft spree.
