Washington, D.C. – A man was fatally shot Wednesday on the median of the 1300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in Southeast, D.C. early this afternoon. Authorities arrived at the scene at 12:24 p.m. following reports of gunshots. The victim was declared dead at the location. Witnesses observed a suspect pursuing the victim along the same block.
The suspect, described as a Black male approximately 6 feet tall and weighing 190 pounds, was seen fleeing eastward on the 1300 block of G Street.
The area surrounding the crime scene, including parts of Pennsylvania Avenue between 13th and 14th Streets and south of 13th Street, was cordoned off with yellow crime tape. Notably, the front patio of Potomac Mini Mart at the intersection with 13th Street was also enclosed.
D.C. Metro Police Department is actively seeking the suspect, who was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, jacket, and blue jeans. Authorities urge anyone with information, including photographs or videos, to contact them at (202) 727-9099 or via the Text Tip Line at 50411, advising witnesses not to approach the suspect.
