Crown Heights Man Indicted for Atacking Woman

Brooklyn, NY- Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez reported the indictment of a Crown Heights man accused of assaulting a woman, breaking her jaw. The defendant was arraigned on charges of second-degree assault, attempted second-degree assault, third-degree assault, and related counts, facing a maximum of seven years in prison if convicted.

The incident occurred on a Wednesday evening, March 26 at around 5 p.m., when a 57-year-old female victim was walking on Grand Avenue near Atlantic Avenue. Allegedly, she was punched unexpectedly by the defendant, causing severe injuries to her jaw. The victim was promptly taken to New York Presbyterian Methodist Hospital for treatment.
