WASHINGTON, DC – A masked individual attempted a robbery in the 1100 block of U Street in Northwest, D.C. early yesterday morning. The incident took place around 4:00 AM when the suspect, disguised in a ski mask, entered a business and demanded access to the safe by intimating they had a weapon.

Despite the suspect’s demands, the employee was unable to open the safe, and the suspect eventually fled the scene. The incident was captured on surveillance cameras.

The D.C. Metro Police Department’s Third District detectives are appealing to the public for help in identifying the suspect. Anyone with information is encouraged to call (202) 727-9099 or send a tip via text to 50411.
