Accomplice Charged for 2019 Atlantic City Murder of Lamir King

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – Police in Atlantic City have announced an arrest in a cold case murder that took place in 2019.

Khalif Toombs, 32, has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of Lamir King.

According to police, on January 1, 2019, the Atlantic City Police Department was dispatched to the 700 Block of North Ohio Avenue where they located Mr. King unconscious and unresponsive inside a motor vehicle. Mr. King was pronounced deceased.

A subsequent autopsy was performed where the cause of death was determined to be multiple gunshot wounds. The manner of death was ruled a homicide.

Police said Toombs is being charged as an accomplice in the murder of King and for paying for King to be killed. He is also facing multiple gun charges.

“The shooter was charged and arrested for the murder of Mr. King in 2019. Mr. Toombs is currently in custody. If convicted of hiring another to commit murder, Mr. Toombs is subject to mandatory life imprisonment,” the department said.
