Alleged bicycle wrench attack leads to armed robbery charge in DC

Police say victim was assaulted before belongings were stolen

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A man accused of attacking a victim with a bicycle wrench during a robbery in Northwest DC has been arrested nearly a month after the violent encounter, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Police said the robbery occurred at approximately 6:55 p.m. on July 10 in the 500 block of Florida Avenue, Northwest DC.

Investigators allege the suspect approached the victim, assaulted the individual with a bicycle wrench, stole the victim’s property and fled the scene.

The victim’s property was recovered a short time later, police said.

On Aug. 6, officers arrested 35-year-old Christian Agnostinelli of Northwest DC on a DC Superior Court arrest warrant.

Agnostinelli has been charged with armed robbery (wrench).

The charge is an allegation, and Agnostinelli is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
