PASADENA, MD — A 50-year-old Arnold man was arrested late Monday night after Anne Arundel County police uncovered drugs and a loaded firearm during a traffic stop in Pasadena.

Detectives from the Eastern District observed a suspected drug transaction around 11:55 p.m. on January 13 near Outing Avenue and Duvall Highway, leading officers to approach Jerome Shelton Johnson, who was seated in a silver 1999 Mercedes sedan.

A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded .40 caliber Glock handgun with 13 rounds of ammunition, approximately 85 grams of suspected cocaine, 19 individually wrapped strips of suspected Suboxone, and a digital scale.

Police noted that Johnson is legally prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.
