Armed Dollar Store Robber Shows Gun, Flees After Owner Responded by Showing His Gun

PHILADELPHIA, PA – An armed robber was going after the big dollar score at a Philadelphia Dollar General last month and today, police have released a video and photos of the suspect.  The Philadelphia Police Department is hoping the public can help them identify this dollar store bandit.

According to police, on May 25, at approximately 3:23 pm, an unknown white male entered Grace Dollar General located at 6900 Bustleton Ave,nue and walked up to the counter to purchase a drink.  It was clear the drink wasn’t the only thing he wanted.

The robber showed the owner a gun he had tucked in his waistband.  Willing to play the game of show and tell, the owner then showed the robber his own gun. The robber then dropped everything and ran away empty handed.

“The suspect then showed the employee a gun in his waistband, demanding the money from the register. The employee refused, that is when the suspect walked behind the counter attempting to take the money. The owner produced his own gun, causing the suspect to flee the store. The suspect was last seen traveling west on Longshore,” police said today.
