Smoke shop raid reveals armed man running drug operation
BALTIMORE, MD — A man wearing a ballistic vest marked “Armed Security” was arrested after police uncovered drugs and a loaded rifle during a raid on a Baltimore smoke shop, authorities said.
Detectives executed a search warrant around 1:11 p.m. on March 17 at a business in the 2100 block of East Monument Street.
During the search, investigators recovered about two pounds of suspected cannabis packaged for distribution.
Police said a 22-year-old man inside the store was wearing a ballistic vest and carrying a loaded rifle at the time of the raid.
Authorities had previously observed the suspect allegedly selling suspected cannabis products from inside the shop.
The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he faces multiple drug and firearms charges.
