Armed Robbery at Wilmington Bakery Under Investigation

WILMINGTON, DE – Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery at Pasteles Rojas Bakery that occurred early Tuesday morning.

At approximately 3:07 a.m., an unidentified male suspect confronted an employee taking out the trash at the bakery on Kirkwood Highway. Brandishing a handgun, the suspect forced the employee back into the bakery. Inside, three more employees were made to kneel while the suspect threatened their lives and demanded cash from the registers and personal property from the victims. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and items.

The employees were unharmed. The suspect was wearing dark clothing, and surveillance footage is still pending. The Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit urges anyone with information to contact Detective R. Strecker at 302-365-8413 or via private Facebook message to the Delaware State Police.
