Armed robbery attempt fails at East Harlem business

MANHATTAN, N.Y. — Two unidentified suspects fled empty-handed after attempting to rob a business on 1st Avenue in East Harlem on the afternoon of May 22, police said.

The incident occurred around 4:08 p.m. inside 2125 1st Avenue, where a 19-year-old male employee was working when the suspects entered. According to police, one individual brandished a firearm and demanded cash while the second stood at the entrance as a lookout.

Despite the threat, the suspects were unsuccessful in obtaining any money and fled the scene on foot, heading northbound on 1st Avenue. No injuries were reported.

The first suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion, last seen wearing a black jacket, black sweater, blue pants, tan boots, and carrying a black backpack.

The second suspect is described as a male with a medium complexion, last seen wearing a black jacket, gray sweater, gray sweatpants, and red sneakers.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
