Armed Suspect Shot by Police in Garfield Neighborhood

Pittsburgh, PA – The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit responded to a domestic dispute incident in the Garfield neighborhood, resulting in an officer-involved shooting.

At 11:03 a.m., County 9-1-1 dispatched Pittsburgh Police to the 4900 block of Kincaid Street following a report of a female assaulted during a domestic dispute and an armed 20-year-old male.

An officer arrived on scene at 11:11 a.m. and encountered the armed male outside the residence. The suspect fired multiple rounds at police, prompting one officer to return fire, striking the male multiple times. The suspect was transported to an area hospital in stable condition. The female victim suffered facial injuries during the initial assault.

Detectives have begun an investigation, which will be turned over to the district attorney’s office for review upon completion.
