Armed suspects lock employees in bathroom during D.C. robbery

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Employees of a Northwest D.C. business were restrained and locked in a bathroom during an armed robbery last week, as police continue to search for the suspects involved.

The incident occurred on December 12, 2024, at approximately 6:55 p.m. in the 1500 block of 9th Street NW. Multiple suspects entered the business, brandishing handguns, and forced the employees into the bathroom before locking the door. The suspects then stole merchandise and fled the scene.

Surveillance cameras captured images of one of the suspects, and police have released the photos in hopes of identifying those responsible.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact police at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to the MPD’s anonymous TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to track down the individuals involved.
