Arnold Man Charged with Homicide and First-Degree Murder After Fatal Stabbing

Arnold, PA — Arnold Police and the Westmoreland County Detective Bureau responded to a deadly stabbing on Sunday, August 4. At approximately 5:38 p.m., Arnold Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Liberty Avenue following a report of a man stabbing a woman.

Brian Rebold, 38, called 911 to report the incident. Several neighbors witnessed the stabbing and provided statements to the responding officers. Upon arrival, officers found Diana Rebold, the suspect’s mother, lying unresponsive in the street with severe head wounds. Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rebold allegedly discarded the knife in a neighboring yard, where it was later recovered by police. He was taken into custody without incident. Rebold has been charged with criminal homicide and first-degree murder. He is currently being held without bail at the Westmoreland County Prison.
