BALTIMORE – Detectives have made a significant breakthrough in a murder investigation following the tragic shooting on June 2, 2024, in the Central District. On June 6, 2024, 25-year-old Aqil Tamir King was arrested in connection with the murder of 34-year-old Jarmal Harrid.

The incident occurred in the early hours of June 2, at approximately 3:49 a.m., inside a business located on the 500 block of West Mulberry Street. Upon arrival, police officers discovered Harrid suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following a detailed investigation, King was apprehended by detectives and has been transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility. He faces charges of first-degree murder among other related charges. The arrest marks a critical step in the ongoing commitment to addressing violent crime in the area.
