Arrest Made in Fatal Hit and Run that Killed 16-Year-Old in Baltimore One Year Ago This Week

BALTIMORE, MD – Officers of the Baltimore County Police Department’s Crash Investigation Team arrested the individual responsible for the fatal hit and run crash that resulted in the death of 16-year-old Jayden Baldree on July 19, 2021. Jayden Baldree, who was riding her bike on Northpoint Boulevard, was fatally struck by a dark colored 2005 Acura sedan.

The 16-year-old victim, Jayden Baldree, was on a bicycle at the time of the crash. Baldree was traveling northbound along Northpoint Boulevard near Baltimore Street when a car traveling in the same lane struck her from behind and fled the scene. The teen did not survive. 

The vehicle responsible fled the scene and was located a short time after the crash. After a lengthy and comprehensive investigation, the suspect, an 18 year old (17 years old at the time of the incident), was arrested without incident and charged. Due to the individual being a juvenile at the time of the incident, the name will not be released.

Officers later located the suspect’s vehicle, unoccupied, at the intersection of Baltimore Street and Eastbrook Avenue. Prior to fleeing the scene, the tags to the 2005 Acura were removed.
