Arthur Cahoon arrested in connection with May homicide of William ‘Joey’ Woods

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Arthur “Mark” Cahoon has been arrested and charged with murder in the death of 37-year-old William “Joey” Woods, according to Columbus police.

Officers responded to the 2000 block of Ottis Court around 1:34 a.m. on May 27 and found Woods unresponsive. He was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries at 5:35 a.m. on May 30.

On June 17, the Franklin County Coroner’s Office officially ruled the case a homicide. Following the ruling, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Cahoon.

Cahoon was taken into custody by the Columbus SWAT team and is now charged with murder in connection to Woods’ death.

Authorities initially sought information from the public on Cahoon’s whereabouts following the incident, which remained under investigation for weeks.
