Asbury Park Police Department celebrates officer promotions in ceremony at town hall

ASBURY PARK, N.J. — The Asbury Park Police Department held a promotional ceremony Monday, honoring three officers with new leadership roles in front of family, colleagues, and city officials.

The event, conducted in the City Council Chambers, saw Deputy Chief Thompson formally presenting the officers for their promotions. Lorenzo Pettway was elevated to the rank of police captain, Sean De Shader to police lieutenant, and Sean McGrady to police sergeant.

Deputy City Clerk Anthony Cucci officiated the swearing-in process, marking the culmination of the officers’ achievements in a ceremony attended by local leaders and other law enforcement representatives.

The department expressed gratitude to city officials, including the mayor, deputy mayor, council members, city manager, and deputy city manager, for their role in facilitating the promotions.

“These promotions reflect the dedication and service of our officers,” the department shared via social media.
