MAYS LANDING, N.J. – Rashaun Williams, 39, of Atlantic City, pleaded guilty on Friday to charges of third-degree aggravated assault and fourth-degree possession of a weapon by a certain person. The plea was entered in front of Judge Dorothy Incarvito-Garrabrant in Atlantic County Superior Court, where a negotiated agreement recommended a five-year state prison term.

The charges stemmed from an incident on August 13, when Atlantic City Police responded to reports of a stabbing at a convenience store on Atlantic Avenue. According to police, officers found the victim with stab wounds to the arm, stomach, and leg, and the individual was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Williams was apprehended shortly after, still in possession of the pocketknife used in the attack. Authorities stated that the assault was recorded on surveillance footage obtained from the convenience store.

In addition to the prison sentence, the terms of the plea include a no-contact order with the victim of the attack. Williams’ sentencing has been scheduled for January 3, 2025.
