Atlantic City school threats unfounded, police say

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — A reported threat to local schools in Atlantic City has been deemed unfounded, according to the Atlantic City Police Department.

Concerns were raised after parents and individuals contacted the department about a potential threat circulating on social media. The Atlantic City Police responded swiftly, investigating the situation through its Criminal Investigations Section.

Authorities determined that the document in question, which included a list of schools, originated from the New Jersey Department of Education’s Comprehensive and Targeted Schools improvement plan and was not a threat.

“There is no threat to any school,” the police department said in a statement shared on social media.

Police thanked the community for their vigilance and encouraged individuals to continue reporting any suspicious activity to help maintain the safety of local schools.
