Bakery burglar swipes pastries in DC break-in caught on video

WASHINGTON, DC – A late-night burglary at a Southeast bakery has sparked a police investigation after a suspect was caught on surveillance video stealing baked goods and fleeing the scene.

The incident occurred around 10:38 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, at a business in the 1200 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. The suspect forcibly entered the bakery, took items, and left before police arrived.

Surveillance footage captured the suspect during the burglary. The Metropolitan Police Department released a link to the video as part of an effort to identify the individual involved: Watch the video here.

Investigators are offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the person responsible.
