Two men shot blocks apart in broad daylight in Northern District shooting

BALTIMORE, MD — Two men were found shot less than a mile apart in the middle of the morning on Tuesday in the city’s Northern District, prompting a dual investigation into a connected shooting incident that left both victims hospitalized.

At approximately 10:49 a.m., patrol units in the 2700 block of West Cold Lane came across a 32-year-old man with a gunshot wound. Just minutes later, another man, 27, was found shot in the 4400 block of Reisterstown Road. Both were transported to local hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Investigators believe the shooting occurred in the rear of the 2700 block of West Cold Lane, where the victims were initially targeted by unknown suspect or suspects. The motive remains unclear, and police have not yet released descriptions of any suspects involved.

The two shooting scenes, which are roughly five blocks apart, were secured as investigators combed for evidence. Officials have not confirmed whether either victim was armed or known to law enforcement prior to the incident.
