BALTIMORE, MD— Eric Kibler, 43, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder for his role in a mass shooting that occurred on August 18th in the 1300 block of North Spring Street. The incident left 36-year-old Anthony Martin dead and seven others wounded.
According to investigators, the shooting unfolded around 8:01 p.m., with multiple calls reporting gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered several victims suffering from gunshot wounds. A short time later, additional victims arrived at nearby hospitals seeking treatment for their injuries. In total, eight individuals were shot, including a 46-year-old male, a 23-year-old male, a 40-year-old male, a 41-year-old female, a 45-year-old male, a 22-year-old male, and an unidentified adult male. Medics transported the victims to area hospitals, where Martin was later pronounced dead.
Following an extensive investigation, detectives were able to identify Kibler as the primary suspect. He was apprehended by the Warrant Apprehension Task Force on October 7 and transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility. In addition to first-degree murder, Kibler is facing several other charges related to the shooting.
The victims’ conditions varied from critical to stable following the attack. The motive behind the shooting has not been disclosed. Anyone with further information is urged to contact the Baltimore Police Department.
