BALTIMORE, MD—Gary Leon Holloway, 46, of Baltimore, Maryland, has been sentenced to fourteen years in federal prison for the armed robberies of three cellphone stores across Howard, Anne Arundel, and Baltimore counties. The sentence, handed down by United States District Judge Brendan A. Hurson, also includes four years of supervised release following Holloway’s incarceration.

The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Erek L. Barron, along with officials from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and local police departments. According to court documents, Holloway, alongside his co-conspirators, carried out the planned robberies in January 2020, targeting stores in Ellicott City, Glen Burnie, and Dundalk. During each incident, Holloway brandished a firearm, with the robberies escalating in severity, culminating in the theft of not only electronics but also cash and personal items from store employees.

The capture and subsequent prosecution of Holloway and his associates mark a significant victory for Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a national initiative aimed at reducing violent crime. Under the enhanced strategy launched in May 2021, PSN focuses on fostering community trust, supporting violence prevention programs, and prioritizing strategic enforcement efforts.

U.S. Attorney Barron praised the collaborative efforts of the ATF and local law enforcement agencies in bringing the perpetrators to justice. Assistant U.S. Attorneys John W. Sippel, Jr., and Adey Adenrele were acknowledged for their roles in the successful prosecution of this case.
