Baltimore Police Arrest 15-Year-Old Suspect in Western District Attempted Murder

BALTIMORE, Md. — A 15-year-old male was arrested for attempted murder after allegedly firing a handgun at a 15-year-old female in Baltimore’s Western District. The incident occurred on August 31, 2024, around 6:39 p.m., when officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 1800 block of Appleton Street.

Upon arrival, officers were informed that the suspect had used a handgun to shoot at the female victim. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Members of the Western District Action Team immediately began canvassing the area and successfully located and apprehended the suspect.

A handgun was recovered during the arrest. The suspect has been transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he faces charges including attempted first-degree murder. The investigation remains ongoing.
