Baltimore Police Arrest Suspect in December Shooting

BALTIMORE, MD – Baltimore Police have apprehended 21-year-old Zahlir Gantt in connection with a shooting that took place in the Northeast District on December 19, 2023. Gantt is accused of shooting a 26-year-old male while the victim was driving on the 2300 block of East Northern Parkway.

The arrest occurred on Thursday when Warrant Apprehension detectives located Gantt at a residence in the 2400 block of Wellbridge Avenue. Following his arrest, Gantt was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he has been charged with four counts of attempted first-degree murder.

The shooting investigation initially began after the victim, suffering from gunshot wounds, sought treatment at a local hospital on the day of the incident.
