The incident unfolded at approximately 4:45 p.m. when detectives spotted the carjacked vehicle traveling southbound on Belair Road. The vehicle attempted to evade police, eventually fleeing into an adjacent alley where the occupants exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.

The driver, a 17-year-old male, was apprehended by detectives. He was then transported to the Central Booking and Intake Facility for processing.
