Victim died after Monday afternoon gunfire in East Baltimore
BALTIMORE, MD — A Monday afternoon shooting on East North Avenue turned deadly after officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound and rushed him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to Baltimore Police.
Eastern District officers responded to the 500 block of E. North Avenue at approximately 2:14 p.m. following a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they located an unidentified male suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
He was later pronounced dead, police said.
Baltimore Police had not publicly identified the victim in the information released about the homicide.
The department also did not provide a suspect description or disclose what may have led to the shooting.
Homicide detectives assumed control of the investigation.
