GALLOWAY, NJ—The Galloway Township Police Department responded to a welfare check at approximately 12:00 PM on Sunday in the 700 block of Cooper Ferry Court. Upon their arrival, police discovered that the individual involved was armed and unwilling to leave the residence.

After a standoff lasting about six hours, the individual voluntarily exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident. They were subsequently transported to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center for a medical evaluation.
