BEREA, OH – A Berea man landed a $1 million Ohio Lottery scratch-off prize and chose to take a $500,000 lump-sum cash option instead of receiving $40,000 a year for 25 years.
The winning ticket was from the Millionaire Blowout scratch-off game.
Dairy Deli, located at 17791 Sheldon Road in Middleburg Heights, sold the top-prize ticket, according to the Ohio Lottery.
The game’s advertised top prize is $40,000 annually for 25 years, which totals $1 million.
The winner chose the $500,000 cash option.
After mandatory 26.75% state and federal tax withholdings, the Ohio Lottery said he will receive $366,250.
