BJ’s Wholesale Club Opens Another Location in New Jersey

Hanover, NJ – Shoppers in Morris County have a new reason to stock up as BJ’s Wholesale Club officially opened its latest location in Hanover Township on Friday, March 21.

Located at 831 State Route 10 in the redeveloped Hanover Towne Center, the 161,581-square-foot warehouse club marks the retailer’s 25th outpost in New Jersey, delivering its signature blend of value, variety, and convenience to the Whippany community.

The grand opening celebration drew crowds eager to explore the sprawling store, which replaces the long-vacant Pine Plaza shopping center, shuttered since 2020.

Alongside an on-site BJ’s Gas station offering low fuel prices and additional savings through the Fuel Saver Program, the club promises a one-stop shopping experience. From fresh produce and full-service deli items to household essentials, home décor, and electronics, BJ’s aims to cater to every need—complete with a treasure-hunt vibe featuring seasonal and local finds.

The opening is a cornerstone of the Hanover Towne Center redevelopment, a 23-acre project that also includes plans for a standalone Chick-fil-A, three additional retail or restaurant spaces, and 60 townhomes. Township officials see the arrival of BJ’s as a revitalization milestone.

The store’s debut follows months of anticipation, with a membership center opening in December 2024 to offer exclusive founding member deals—$25 for a Club Card Membership or $70 for a Club+ Card with added perks like gas discounts and rewards. Beyond savings, BJ’s is making a community impact, partnering with the Community Food Bank of New Jersey in Hillside to donate weekly supplies of produce, meat, and dairy to local pantries like Food for Hope in Rockaway Township and the Interfaith Food Pantry in Parsippany.

The BJ’s Charitable Foundation also contributed $75,000 to support the Food Bank’s Family Pack program, providing over 25,000 meals to students and families.

Employing approximately 150 team members, the Whippany club is part of BJ’s broader East Coast expansion, which includes another new location in Southern Pines, North Carolina, and a forthcoming entry into Kentucky. With flexible shopping options like curbside pickup, same-day delivery, and ExpressPay via the BJ’s app, the retailer is betting big on blending value with modern convenience.

As Hanover Towne Center continues to take shape, the BJ’s opening signals a fresh chapter for Route 10—one where bulk buys, low gas prices, and community support are now just around the corner.
