Powerball ticket worth $200K sold at Manhattan café ahead of Saturday drawing

MANHATTAN, NY — A lucky Powerball player is holding a $200,000 winning ticket purchased at a popular Manhattan café, according to officials with the New York Lottery.

The prize-winning ticket matched four numbers and the Powerball from the Saturday drawing and included the Power Play option, which boosted the third-tier prize from $50,000 to $200,000.

Lottery officials said the ticket was sold at Players Cafe, located at 241 Bleecker Street in Manhattan. The identity of the winner has not yet been disclosed.

Saturday’s winning numbers were drawn live at 10:59 p.m. as part of the regular Powerball schedule, which includes drawings every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. To win the third prize, players must match four of the five main numbers plus the red Powerball. Choosing the Power Play option at the time of purchase allows players to multiply non-jackpot winnings by up to 10 times, depending on the multiplier drawn.

The Powerball is drawn from a pool of numbers ranging from 1 to 69, with the Powerball itself drawn from a separate pool of 1 to 26.

While the top jackpot remained unclaimed, the $200,000 win marks a significant holiday season boost for one New Yorker — and another reminder that big wins happen beyond the jackpot tier.

The New York Lottery continues to be the most profitable lottery in North America, contributing more than $3.6 billion to education in the state during the 2024-2025 fiscal year.

Winners have up to one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.
