BALTIMORE, Md. — Emergency personnel recovered the body of an unidentified man from a waterway near Gwynn Oak Park on Thursday morning after a swift water rescue operation, authorities said.

Baltimore County officers were dispatched to the area around 9:15 a.m. following a report of a possible water rescue. Upon arriving at the scene, medics determined that the man was already deceased.

Due to the challenging location of the body, it took emergency crews until 11:45 a.m. to safely remove the man from the water, officials stated. The circumstances surrounding the death remain unclear.

Homicide detectives are currently investigating and are awaiting autopsy results to determine the cause of death. The man’s identity has not yet been confirmed.
